The Member of Parliament for Ketu South and Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has once again demonstrated her commitment to youth empowerment and skills development through her Skills Development Programme.
Under the programme’s Dressmaking Module, qualified beneficiaries from the Ketu South Constituency were fully sponsored to sit for their National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) examinations. In addition to the examination sponsorship, the trainees were also provided with essential tools and materials to enable them to transition smoothly into self-employment.
The initiative forms part of Hon. Gomashie’s broader vision to equip constituents, especially the youth and women, with practical skills that promote entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. By removing financial barriers and providing start-up support, the programme seeks to reduce unemployment and enhance economic resilience within the constituency.
Speaking on the impact of the intervention, officials of the programme noted that certified skills and access to basic working tools place beneficiaries in a stronger position to secure decent work, grow small businesses, and contribute meaningfully to the local economy.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the MP for the opportunity, describing the support as timely and life-changing, particularly in the current economic climate.
The Skills Development Programme continues to serve as a key pillar of human capital development in Ketu South, empowering residents with employable skills and creating pathways for long-term economic growth.
